The Computing Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Academgorodok, Novosibirsk) and the State Elctrotechnical University of St.-Petersburg are jointly organizing the Fifth International Conference on PARALLEL COMPUTING TECHNOLOGIES (PaCT-99).
The conference will be held in St.-Petersburg, September 6-10,
1999.
Four previous conferences have been held in Novosibirsk (1991), Obninsk
(1993),
St.-Petersburg (1995) and Yaroslavl (1997).
The aim of PaCT-99 is to give an overview of new developments, applications, and trends in parallel computing technologies. We sincerely hope this conference will help to deepen our understanding of parallel computing technologies by providing a forum for an exchange of views between scientists and specialists from over the world. We welcome your active participation.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Original manuscripts are solicited for the Conference. An extended abstract (about 5-7 pages) should be submitted to the conference address in Novosibirsk (see below) by January 20, 1999. Only electronic submission of manuscripts will be accepted.
The first page should include (but not be limited to) the following information: title, the author's full names, affiliation, addresses, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address.
To gain the better understanding of your abstract, we also request that you include the following information: a short review of related papers, formulation of the problem, objectives, a description of results, main ideas, and the list of references.
All papers will be internationally reviewed. Authors will be notified of acceptance by March 15, 1999. We will require camera-ready copy of the accepted paper by May 20, 1999. We will be unable to include in the Proceedings papers that arrive after the deadline.
The organizers expect that the authors of selected papers will present their paper in St.-Petersburg.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
We request that you prepare your extended abstract in plain ASCII, or standard LaTeX (using the 'article' or LNCS style) or Microsoft Word or PostScript.
PROCEEDINGS
The Conference Proceedings is planned to be published as the volume of Springer Verlag LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) series and distributed at the Conference.
LANGUAGE
The official language of the Conference is English.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Cultural program is planned for the participants and accompanying persons. St.-Petersburg is one of the most famous scientific and cultural centers of Russia. If you would like to feel a soul of the city, to visit the parks surrounding it, the Hermitage and the Russian Museum, Peter and Paul Fortress, the imperial palaces, we'll suggest you the cultural program. The list of the excursions may include "The City-orientation Tour", "The Time of Peter the Great", "Heart of the City", "Emeralds of the City Environs" and many others.
